Immigration is the top issue of republicans after Inflation. Since inflation is now below 3%, Immigration will be the biggest issue. Trump says how dangerous they are. But US citizens are more dangerous!

U.S.-born citizens are 2 times as likely to be arrested for violent crimes,
U.S.-born citizens are 2.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug crimes. And
U.S.-born citizens are 4 times more likely to be arrested for property crimes.

DRUGS: 90% of fentanyl come through legal border checkpoints by people who are authorized to cross.
45% of those bringing fentanyl into the US are US Citizens. (NPR.org Aug 9th, 2023)
Almost NO asylum seekers have drugs on them.
Biden tried to fund the border crossings for better interdiction of drugs but that was blocked by Republicans.
CRIME: On average, Red States have 20% higher murder rates than Blue States. Even when taking out the largest Blue City County from the stats., the murder rate is 16%.
The deep south is where 3 reddest States (LA, MS, AL) have the consistently highest murder rates from 2000 to 2020. In 2020 the top 7 most murderous states (LA, MS, AL, MO, AR, SC, TN) were all Red States! None of these states are in the top 7 states that immigrants go to. In General Crime in the US has remained on a 50 year historic low, with no major increases. In fact in 2022, most violent crimes were still going down.

JOBS: Immigrants are not taking jobs away from anyone. Current long term US Citizens have the skills and opportunity to have higher paying jobs and will not take the lower paying low skilled jobs. Even in these jobs, new US citizens that have better English skills usually are in positions of more responsibility that might oversee those that don’t have the same skills or are undocumented. Recent Immigrants are 80% more likely to start a company than other US citizens. Undocumented worker hires end up pushing recent immigrants to higher positions and helping to grow the economy including their increased spending and expanding businesses. Springfield, OH was a declining town, but is now a fast growing town due to immigration. (epi.org Economic Policy Institute 022024; The Atlantic Oct 2023)
Therefore: Republicans are lying about Immigration, Drugs, Crime, Jobs.
